True ending H is a giant roller coaster of emotions and really reaches out to almost everyone playing because of all the secrets and sorrows unveiled. This game is what true comfort is, dolor and solace merging into one feeling, one of a poignant, saudade, and melancholic emotion. Never stop writing and please continue to make masterpieces like this!
WAIT OKAY I FIGURED IT OUT. I think something the guide didn't mention was that you have to finish making the sedative completely (mix it together and all) before trying to pull that trigger (and you also have to had gathered all the other things first). It works for me after that!!
Ahh, I didn't have that issue. For me, it wasn't showing me that I was getting chased and it made it very difficult to play. I had to contact the developers and they had to look at my game file, after that, it had worked. Very strange issue. I'm glad it worked out for you in the end.

Most indie Games show some kind of Pop-Up when being installed, even older Game Engines like Unity 2017.7-2018 did. Most of the time, they're completely safe.

im not sure if this will help, but sometimes you may need to just launch 'file explorer' then go to 'downloads' then look for the download you downloaded and open it, but make sure it is NOT the zipped/compressed file. there should be the zipped file and a different file with the same name, but with no zip on it. then just look for the application in the file, and it should launch. hope this helps! :))

I cannot seem to save in the ENG version, it worked earlier because I just pressed enter but now it's not letting me. Is there an alternative key I can press? I already tried all the letter keys. Or is this normal, just to make the game more difficult?

Took me a while but I finally got this working on on my Mac ;; I know I could have watched a playthrough in the time it took me to set up everything but I feel this is something I really have to play myself - wish me luck!
(also if like me you keep getting the “unable to find *audio*” error message on the title screen - for me this was because I extracted the zip file. I’m not sure how it works but everything plays (music and all) and saves just fine by running the game file from the original zip folder.)
I used a Windows 11 Virtual Machine to help download the game and the RTP files (I just use the free trial) I also have Wine/Winebottler on my Mac - although I’m not sure how much that help as I had that beforehand but thought I’d mention it.
Hataraxia mentioned Wineskin which I’ve never used myself so maybe that’ll also be a good way too ^^
I haven’t played SHTDN yet (but definitely plan too~) but for Zeno I used a Windows 11 Virtual Machine (the free trial) for the downloads/RTP files. I previously had Wine/Winebottler from a previous time so I’m not sure if you need that or just the machine. Maybe that might be of help?
no problem! I did actually try downloading it and it worked ^^ except this time extracting the files. (If it comes up with a “nw_elf.dll missing error” these can be downloaded from a Google search)
(Also finally checked and the program I used it Parallels Desktop. It’s bit slow but gets the job done)
It's actually just a random glitch that can happen at any point of the game where a dialogue won't translate when it's supposed to. When I reloaded the save, things that were in Japanese would be translated. (For me it was usually minor things like a tiny interaction like the extra stands in the library, but one time a small part of the ending wasn't translated until I reloaded the save)
I'm not sure since I don't know how RPG maker works, as well as translations for an RPG maker game. The only thing I can think might be happening is that the translations aren't written into the game's text itself (meaning that the Japanese is erased and replaced with the English text), but are written into code to override the Japanese text when it detects the line (so if it detects line XYZ, it'll be replaced over with the English text).
That would probably make it where such an issue can happen because some parts of the Japanese script might not get detected, making it where the translation doesn't activate for that line/interaction, but if you reload it, the script gets detected.
But again, idk how the coding actually works for the translation and it's just my speculation on how the code might work.

THE STORY. I am in LOVE with the story. It was creepy, VERY emotional (I had to pause and scream when I realized Maeno eating Natsu was THE REASON FOR TSUGINO'S ZENO ONSET. AMAZING.) and somewhat romantic. I believe the heavy subjects the game revolved around were handled wonderfully. The art, the ambiance, the sprites... I genuinely think this game delivers its theme across perfectly and you can definitely bond with the characters.
THE GAMEPLAY. I mean, it's an rpg maker game, I am well aware of that and actually deeply enjoy the genre. But Zeno's gameplay honestly was challenging to say the least (at least for me). When I go into rpg maker games with many endings I'd prefer discovering, well, everything including the deaths, and dialouge. This game did not have an official guide and I found this very weird considering there being 13 possible endings.. And, yes, I have checked the wiki. I could only find the information about the routes and how many endings there were in said routes, NO info about how to get said endings (this became annoying when equiping certain items to trigger certain events and endings, which the wiki does not state. Imagine overwriting a save unaware of this so now youre just wondering why and how you're not getting the good TRUE ending. ITS CHALLENGING). I found a guide of course but an official guide should definitely be considered imo.
TRANSLATION. I played the english translation... aararghhh I really dont wanna sound mean because I adore this game and can clearly see the time and devotion that went into the translation BUt it was bad, sorry man :(( replacing the word "something" with "sth" is wild. I MYSELF am not a native speaker and dont expect a perfect translation. I just want more people to play this beautiful game and dont want the bad english to confuse other players into droping the game midway
ACCESSABILITY. My only critic left is about the accessability of the game. First was the japanese website that made it hard to understand the deal of the game and then it was the problems that followed when booting up the game. My antivirus detected the game as an actual virus. These things made it kinda challenging for me to continue and almost made me give up on playing ( I am SO GLAD I DIDNT). I think a clarification on the website in other langueges could be best for stating the issues with the antivirus n all.
OVERALL THIS GAME IS VERY GOOD AND I RECCOMENDED IT TO A FEW FRIENDS. 7/10. loved it.
(ps if yall hear anything about a zeno daily life remake LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!!)
